Inventory Management

In order to ensure that all hazardous material used on the George Washington University campuses is accounted for, each department is expected to keep a complete and up to date inventory of all laboratory chemicals. Each department should have a electronic spreadsheet that contains the following information about all materials:

  • Common name
  • Manufacturer
  • Composition
  • Physical state
  • Container type
  • Unit
  • Storage quantity minimum
  • Storage quantity maximum
  • Annual use quantity
  • Location on campus
