Environmental Health

The Office of Health & Safety (H&S) has developed environmental health programs to help protect university students, faculty, and staff. Environmental health concerns including asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold are addressed in these programs. Specific procedures are followed to minimize and control hazards associated with each of these environmental health concerns.

Asbestos

We follow the asbestos policy laid out by the university and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Indoor Air Quality

We offer air quality evaluations for all members of the university community.

Lead-Based Paint

We respond to concerns about lead-based paint, follow protocols laid out by the university and OSHA, and offer lead awareness training for members of the university community.

Mold

We inspect suspected elements of mold throughout the university and coordinate with Facilities Services to have mold removed.
